The day: Liverpool FC is here!!! #day22

The 20th of July would be memorable for Indonesian Reds and LFC itself. This was Liverpool's first visit to Indonesia as a pre-season tour. Before I entered the stadium, I heard some Liverpool's songs and chants sung passionately by almost 90,000 fans. Then, I knew something magical was going to happen.

Once I stepped inside the stadium, I saw an incredible scene: the crowds, who dressed in red, sang a euphoric rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone. Yes, they sang, cheered and chanted with passion and love. It was like I was at Anfield's Kop! In other words, the atmosphere in the stadium was rocking that night!

I stood in the east tribune with people of all ages and backgrounds, connected by one powerful bound: WE LOVE THE REDS (without devil :p). Actually, I didn't even know the lyrics of famous Liverpool's anthem and chants, but standing amidst the die-hard fans helped me sing those classic songs. :D

There were many banners seen at the stadium to tribute to Reds player, such as former striker Fowler and the recently-retired Jammie Carragher. Besides that, a massive banner featuring a picture of Indonesian puppets Wayang with the words "The Traditionalist" was unveiled by Indonesian Bigreds. The traditionalist is defined as fans who are staunchly against the commercialization of Liverpool FC. Moreover, a huge mosaic was also shown to tribute to one of two major tragedies in Liverpool's history that was JFT 96. It stands for Justice For The 96 or Hillsborough disaster (It's NOT Jacksen F. Thiago, the Indonesian football team's coach. :p). The incident took 96 lives of Liverpool fans, by the way.

When the Reds finally entered the pitch to begin warming up, all fantastic supporters greeted with rapturous applause. Then, I saw Gerrard coming out. Whoooohooooo!!! It was like a dream comes true, LFC's players, especially Steven Gerrard, were just a few meters away from my sight.

That night Gerrard played on the starting line-up alongside four of The Reds' new signings such as Mignolet, Toure, Aspas, and Alberto. It was unbelievably amazing to see them in flesh. Yeaaahhh!!!! During the warming up and the match, each touch of the ball that Gerrard received was greeted with excitement and applause.

Finally, the friendly match ended with 2-0 for Liverpool's victory. Coutinho and Sterling got the goal for Liverpool. Amazing night. That was one of the best nights of my life. Thank you for coming, Liverpool. Can't wait to attend another of your visits here. Or maybe someday I'll fly to Anfield. AAMIIN.
